Testimonials

Long time member of the Eastview Boys and Girls Club wrote:

“I started with the club in 1960 when I wanted to become a better swimmer. I started in an adult beginner class and ended with me Red Cross Intermediate badge. My three children all took swimming lessons. My oldest daughter received her Seniors in Red Cross and my youngest daughter and son their Junior.

I did a perfect dive and also my worst dive at the Eastview Boys and Girls Club.

I have walked in every Walk-A-Thon but one; and that one time was because I had injured my right knee earlier, skating.

I am now 80 years young. I could not have walked without the kindness and help of Patricia Baker of which I am very grateful.”

Member of the after school program said:

“The best part about the program is that I get to play game and meet new friends.”

Parent comment

“The staff of the Eastview Boys and Girls Club are all awesome with the kids. Thanks to everyone for being so kind and patient with my son. This club has helped him tremendously, teaching him how to control his anger and how to be friendly.”

Long time staff member

“I feel that the club has truly made a difference in my life. I am glad that I found a place were I could be myself. The Eastview Boys and Girls Club has provided me with a safe “home” when I needed it the most. Thank you for all your encouraging words, support and dedication to people like me!”

Parent of swimming lessons and after school program

“We want to thank you for your generosity in providing swimming lessons and two days of the holiday camp for our daughter.

These last two years as our son has been ill we tried our best to keep our daughter involved in ‘normal’ activities so that despite what she missed out on as a family, due to our son’s recovery demands, she would hopefully not fall behind in physical and social skills. As a child, Eastview Boys and Girls Club gave me that support also. When my special needs student, needed summer activities, your agency helped her. And now as a parent, I feel confident sending my precious daughter to you.

With our son’s recent death, our daughter has needed the pleasant distractions that give her the attention she needs. She looks forward to your smile, excitement and warm embrace.

We thank you all so much!”

Parent of swimming lessons

“We are impressed with the teaching skills in the pool. You're firm but fair and take the time to individually assist each child. Your patience and sense of humour goes a long way.”
